This policy explains what personal information HUGsoft collects through this website (hug-soft.com), why, and what we do with it. It covers the website only. Our free Chrome extension, Bookmark Workbench, has its own policy at hug-soft.com/chrome-extension/bookmark-workbench/privacy.

HUGsoft, operated by Melchor Bungalso, runs this website and decides how personal information collected through it is used.

When you contact us

If you send a message through the contact form, the support form or by email, we receive the details you choose to give us: typically your name, email address, phone number, company name, subject and message. On the support form, that includes whatever you write in your report.

When you browse

Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the service running.

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

This website loads Google Tag Manager, a tool that lets us add measurement tools without changing the site. Loading it connects your browser to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details. We use it to run Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows us which pages are used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information such as the pages you view and a random identifier. We use this only to understand and improve the website, not for advertising. A notice at the bottom of the page tells you about this when you first visit. You can turn the cookies off at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer; we keep that choice in your browser.

Links to other sites

This website links to our profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook and other networks. Those links load nothing from the networks until you click them. After that, the network's own privacy policy applies.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your permission.

Only the service providers we need to run this website and reply to you, such as our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, which also runs the service that delivers your form messages to us. They may only use it to provide their service to us. Google (Tag Manager and Analytics) receives the technical information described above.

Our hosting and messaging run in Amazon Web Services' Singapore region, and Google handles data on servers in several countries. That means information may be processed outside the Philippines. We choose providers that protect it, and we only send them what the website needs to work.

We keep contact and support messages for 12 months after our last reply, then delete them. Our hosting provider keeps technical logs for a short period set by its own settings.

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 you can:

• ask what information we hold about you, and for a copy;
• ask us to correct it;
• ask us to delete or stop using it;
• object to how we use it, and withdraw your consent where we rely on it.

Email us at the address above. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).

This website is not meant for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us details, write to us and we will delete them.

If we change this policy, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your information, we will say so on this page.
